Nirvana number one?? lol i love nirvana but they have little instrumental talent, awesome list i think, Zeppelin is by far the greatest band of all time, The Beatles are defiantly the most influential so it makes sense, well done
stallionplaya52 posted: 12 Jan at 1:10 am
Reasonable list, I’d agree with a large percentage of it. I’m glad you inducted Rush into at least the top 20, until I saw that Metallica was number 6 (bullshit). Which is what I’d expect the epitome of the modernized child to do.

Aerosmith is extremely overrated!!! I don’t know how they even get so much credit for all the crap they do.

hahahahahaha The Beatles weren’t innovative? They started everything in rock! Idiot…
Sabotage1124 posted: 16 Jan at 2:18 pm
@RevolutionReviews Actually nope they were just a british pop band that came around at the right time. Plus part of their success came from their image. another characteristic of a pop band. The Who were around at the same time as them and they were fucking rock. they started everything in rock. They actually had talent. the beatles were far from rock. Led Zeppelin is the greatest band of all time. 100x more innovative than The Beatles.
Sabotage1124 posted: 16 Jan at 2:23 pm
@RevolutionReviews Led Zeppelin was much more talented and started a whole new wave of music alongside Deep Purple and Black Sabbath. Yeah, lets compare Jimmy Page to George Harrison..that’ll go over well for George. Bonham vs Starr? Bonham is much more talented. Paul vs John Paul Jones? Guess what? John is better. And if Paul or John wants to try to match up to Robert Plant be my guest, they’ll get owned. The Beatles were also media whores incase you didnt notice.
Sabotage1124 posted: 16 Jan at 2:27 pm
@stallionplaya52 Um Metallica deserves that spot. They invented a genre of music, made it extremely famous, and sold over 100 million records. They have played shows for millions of people and have ridiculous number of fans. oh, and they didnt sellout. they already had the money and the fans when they made their “credible” music. a band has the right to change their sound and image if they want to. they can experiment.
RevolutionReviews posted: 16 Jan at 4:15 pm
Led Zeppelin would not have been the same band without the Beatles. The Beatles were the pinnacle for Rock, post 60′s. The Beatles were the first to use backward feeds, create music video, computer generated sound effects, big band orchestra in rock, created first hints of the punk genre, estranged instruments, took songwriting to a whole new level, and so, so much more. The Beatles are extremely more innovative in 40 years no on e has come close to what they’ve done.

@stallionplaya52 I know right, finally someone, or the computer software noticed Rush, they are so damn underrated and to see them at 14 in front of some of those other bands was really nice to see. They should be at 5 if it were up to me, especcially in the categories he based his decisions on….

Your top 10 is pretty good. although I disagree with some bands. I’d like to see Pearl Jam and Iron Maiden a little bit higher up. also Metallica does not belong on the list as they are a terrible band. IMO.
kudo’s on Pink Floyd, Van Halen and Led Zep!

Led Zeppelin would indeed be the same band without the beatles. The beatles were very innovative for their time, but Led Zeppelin had at least as much innovation, with a shitload of more musical talent and depth.
The list has many right, but many way out of place.
